From this point all the Righteous Brothers Moonglow releases were distributed nationally by Atco Records, a division of Atlantic Records.

Moonglow Records did press copies locally of their own, without the Atco distribution notice on the label usually with Hollywood, California under the top Moonglow text. The Moonglow local issues have a matrix number on the label that is the same as the original single, ie M231-1, the Atco national distributed records had Atlantic matrix numbers ie MGL-2688.

Hung On You
Unchained Melody

On the promotional and initial pressings of Philles 129, "Hung On You" was the main side until extensive airplay of the B side "Unchained Melody", forced that to become the main side. Bill Medley who produced the session which included the Bobby Hatfield solo track "Unchained Melody", was not credited on the promotional or initial release of the single but Phil Spector was credited as producer of "Hung On You".
However, when "Unchained Melody" started to gain popularity and climb the charts, subsequent pressings of the record now credited Phil Spector as the producer of the track.

(You're My) Soul And Inspiration
Little Latin Lupe Lu

Mono issues of this single have an alternate version of "(You're My) Soul And Inspiration".
There is a definite way of establishing whether it is the alternate version without having to play the record. Etched in the deadwax (the run out before the label) is the master number, if this is "65 VK 634-M" it is the alternate version - IT MUST INCLUDE THE "M", the standard version doesn't include the "M".

Both the above singles originate from a record company in Hollywood that bootlegged a series of records from the Philles label in 1979, all were on a thin line blue label. The Righteous Brothers two singles were unusual in that they are in stereo (except "There's A Woman") and the stereo channels have been switched over from the original stereo album issues.

The singles were issued on coloured vinyl as well as the standard black, they are not particularly rare or valuable but do crop up for sale where they are often confused for the original Philles issues.
